Our school philosophy centers around basic beliefs about children and learning. Children are born active and inquisitive. This process of interaction results in change and growth - both for the children and for those who live and work with them. At Highland, students are actively involved in the events of daily life. As equal members of a democratic community, they are able to pursue their interests and reflect on their experiences. As a result, living and learning at Highland gives children the opportunity to grow into self-reliant and creative adults.
